Pink Fabric Lampshades

Pink is a warm colour most commonly correlated with the notions of femininity and love. But it need not be limited to just those associations. As a tint of red, pink has the power to evoke deeply soothing and nurturing emotions.

All too often, when people consider the colour pink, off-putting visions of little girls' bedrooms, bubble gum, and Pepto-Bismol come to mind. In interior design, however, pink is a sophisticated and powerful tint that can add much-needed pops of saturated colour that lighten the feel of a space when used as an accent.

Conversely, when serving as the primary colour in a room, lighter tones of pink are happy to stand back and allow darker accoutrements of a motif to take centre stage. When more profound or saturated shades of pink are utilised, such as magenta and fuchsia, and paired with classic white or cream mouldings and gold or silver accent pieces; an elegant sophistication is created within a space.

It is important to note that not all pinks are created equal. If the wrong hues are chosen and paired with uncomplimentary shades of pink or other colours, the tone can quickly become unappealing with a cumulative overbearingness.
