Orange Fabric Lampshades

Orange is a colour that is unnecessarily believed by many to be one which should be avoided within the realm of interior design. To the contrary, however, orange exudes vivaciousness, and when the right hues are used, they add pops of colour that can liven an atmosphere or inspire relaxation.

With different shades of orange associated with energy, warmth, security, passion, and bountiful abundance, orange stimulates the senses and brings forth a sense of vitality. Playful and whimsical, pale hues of orange can soften a mood while bolder tones can bring character and a retro-chic element to any room.

Like any other colour, however, too much of a good thing can become overwhelming. Design styles and motifs need not be audacious to include the colour orange, rather, an accent wall or a few strategically placed adornments are enough to suffice. Splashes of orange in the form of lampshades or decorative pillows throughout a room serve to bring zest into any space without overpowering other interior design elements.

Because orange is a combination of yellow and red, it evokes both physical and emotional reactions, and while it reminds the subconscious mind of food and warmth, when incorporated carelessly, it can indicate a sense of immaturity or frivolity.
