How to measure your lampshade for the correct size of American Spider fitting that I need

 

 

The image shows you how to correctly measure for a American spider fitting. On this occasion the 11cm center fitting rested two inches down inside the lampshade frame, meaning you would need to purchase a 2 inch American spider fitting for this particular size of lampshade frame.  Different styles of lampshade frames that have these 11cm center fittings can vary where the center fittings rest, some might be as far down the lampshade frame as 5 inches, so then you would need to purchase the 5 inch American spider fitting.
