Autumn is officially here! It won’t be long now until the clocks go back and the nights suddenly become much darker. With that in mind, we thought we’d share a few interior design tips to help you give your home a cosy feel this season.

1. Add a cotton-soft throw

A luxurious cotton-soft throw is the perfect accessory for any home during the chilly autumn months. Neatly drape over your sofa during the day to ensure that it’s on hand when you’re ready for a little bit of rest and relaxation at the end of a long stint at work.

2. Add a softer touch with rugs

Rugs are pretty much essential in autumn – especially if you have wooden or laminate flooring in your home. Whether you prefer shaggy or woven designs, layering a few rugs in your living area will add a welcoming touch of warmth for you and your guests.

3. Add some extra lamps

With days getting shorter and nights darker, it’s important to ensure your home is well lit. Not only will a few extra lamps brighten up the look of your home, they’re sure to brighten up your mood too! Mix floor and table lamps in living and sleeping areas to create a soothing, warming glow.

4. Embrace autumnal shades

We love the colours of autumn; red, purple, orange, magenta, brown – even blue – nature’s colour palette is truly incredible at this time of year. Take inspiration from what’s going on outside your front door and bring some traditional colours inside. Throws, cushions, pictures, wreaths, paintings – your options are endless.

5. Bring your plants inside
